U16 Boys Football: Lenham Triumph in Kent Cup Thriller

In a dramatic and emotionally charged encounter, The Lenham School’s U16 boys produced a thrilling 4–3 victory over The Norton Knatchbull School (NKS) in the second round of the Kent Cup — a performance full of determination, teamwork, and pride.

From the very first whistle, the game promised excitement. Norton Knatchbull struck early, putting Lenham under immediate pressure. However, the boys responded superbly, with Oscar calmly finishing to make it 1–1 and lift the energy both on the pitch and among the travelling supporters.

The second half was a tense, end-to-end battle. Every challenge mattered, and every attack was cheered on with passion. Jesse then netted a crucial — and much-debated — equaliser to level the score at 2–2 after Norton Knatchbull had regained the lead. Despite protests from the opposition, the referee awarded the goal, setting up a nail-biting finish to normal time.

With the scores locked at 2–2, the game moved into extra time. That’s when Lenham’s resilience truly shone through. Junior showed great composure to restore the lead with a precise finish, before Max added a decisive fourth goal to make it 4–2. Although Norton Knatchbull managed to pull one back late on, Lenham stood firm to secure a memorable 4–3 win and a well-deserved place in Round 3.

While the game’s intensity tested tempers, The Lenham School boys remained composed and respectful throughout, demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship and embodying the TLS values on and off the pitch.

A fantastic team performance, a dramatic cup tie, and a result that reflects the hard work and character of this group — congratulations to the U16s as they march proudly into Round 3 of the Kent Cup!
