The Lenham B VS Valley Park B
Another strong reminder of how opportunity and belonging is running through he Lenham school. The year 10B team, which is ran by our own students played their first match vs Valley Park B. Snazle and assistant Manager Ricker led the warm up and team talk, as goal keeper coach Hathcher made sure Koko was well prepared.
This was a truly epic battle between two evenly matched teams. Both teams created chances and both keepers had to make incredible saves.
James had to leave the field with a bloody nose, and several big tackles from Perrin really set the tone for a battling display. Onasanya showed some nice touches and Dawson looked dangerous when he ran at the defence.
There were several key blocks from Batteson and Mappledoram as Lenham weathered the storm in the early stages of the second half. In the final 10 minutes Lenham could have won it, with both Ashton and Adams missing narrowly.
Into penalties, and Koko made a great stop to put us off to the best start. Unfortunately, we went on to lose the shoot out 3-1.
Huge congratulations, to all the players, Jamie and Kieran who represented the school with real pride and commitment today.
