Inter-House Football Competition Kicks Off at The Lenham School

This week saw the launch of The Lenham School’s Inter-House Football Competition – part of our new House system introduced this year to promote belonging, teamwork, and opportunities for all students.

The House system is made up of five houses – Chilston, Essinger, Brockwell, Nepean and Maylam – all of which were chosen for their historical significance to the local area. Already, the competition has shown the pride and determination students feel in representing their houses.

In Week 1, Chilston faced Nepean, while Essinger battled Brockwell across all year groups. Chilston made an electric start, winning four out of five fixtures, while Essinger and Brockwell fought out incredibly close matches, with every game decided by just one goal.

With four weeks to go, Chilston will be pleased with their opening momentum, but the competition is far from over. Next week, Maylam will make their debut, determined to make their mark.

Fixtures for Week 2 are as follows:

  • Brockwell vs Maylam
  • Nepean vs Essinger

The competition continues with Year 7 on Monday – we look forward to another week of exciting football at The Lenham School!
