Appeals resulting from Year 7 applications in September 2020 will be heard according to the following timetable:
- If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2020 you can appeal between 1st March - 29 March 2020 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 15 June 2020.
- For applications made in the normal admission round, appeals must be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals.
- For late applications, appeals should be heard within 40 schools days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 schools days of the appeals being lodged.
DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION UPDATE - 1 April 2020
We received information from the Department for Education, on 1 April 2020, confirming that due to the current situation with Covid-19, it will not be possible to go ahead with admission appeal panels as originally planned. The Department for Education has reassured us that they are working urgently on emergency regulations and guidance to establish alternative arrangements which are suitable, but also flexible, and that they will update us as soon as possible.
As a Trust, we are looking at extending current timescales and will update you as soon as we are in a position to confirm the revised arrangements.
